The bare necessities… of our Freemans Flex Viral

by Sonya Greenwood

Movie Clipping 1It’s not every day you walk into the studio to be greeted by a lingerie-clad lady striding confidently around reception. It wasn’t even that warm, as I recall. Some of the guys in the studio quite liked the idea though. (There you go Steve, Leigh and Lee… told you I wouldn’t mention any names.)

Movie Clipping 2Anyway, there I was (fully clothed) on a shoot for the new Freemans digital video viral, starring some of our very own staff; including our Creative Director Julian Gratton who kindly volunteered to be the waterboy! The film’s about Freemans offering a flexible way to pay, so you don’t have to go without the things you need if money’s a bit tight. With 2 scantily clad women walking around the office all day, put it this way I don’t think much other work got done. Unless gawping has been allocated a job number?

It was a really fun shoot to do, and great to have the whole studio involved for the day (big thanks to Seal Films and Velvet Productions too, btw). Not only did I get to see the entire filming process unfold in front of my Mac, I had a front row seat to all the bloopers and scenes that didn’t make it to the final cut. For the record Stuart, I loved your tappy pen routine.

After all the excitement, chaos and ‘what’s my motivations?’ – not to mention the cutting, pasting and editing process –  watching the viral for the first time was brilliant. It’s funny to see it on Youtube, Facebook and Freemans.com so soon after filming. And I can’t wait to hear how many click-throughs and forwards our new viral ad gets – it’s going to be sent out to the general public in the email I designed.
