Some fake adverts to put a smile on your face

by Julian Gratton

A poster for the 1970's comedy film 'The Groove Tube' which features some very funny TV AdvertsLike a lot of agencies, at Red C we have some great ideas that never see the light of day… sometimes I think it would have been great to have saved up all the politically incorrect, subversive and downright funny ideas we’ve come up with over the years and put them on Youtube… but since we didn’t, I thought I’d make you smile and highlight some incredibly funny joke adverts that only a very brave client would dare to try and run.

First up has to be this classic Yellow Pages advert from the very funny 70′s film ‘The Grove Tube’. The ‘Groove Tube’ is well worth checking out for the hilarious Kramp TV Kitchen and the KoKo Clown Show, which if you have young children, will make you think twice about leaving them alone watching a friendly Clown on TV… think twice though before watching ‘Brown 25 from Uranus’.

Probably the sign of a great TV Commercial is when it inspires the public to go out there and create their own versions of your idea… this is probably one of the best of the ‘fake MasterCard adverts’ that are out their.

If we instigated something like this at Red C we’d have an ample supply of beer to offer anyone who visits our office… this is a lovely fake TV Advert for Budweiser.

I always think it’s a shame that no one can seem to make a funny comedy about an advertising agency… ‘The Persuasionists’ is just the latest to prove that point. This fake advert done by an agency in the US has to be the funniest thing I’ve seen about life in an advertising agency.
