Rudolph guides customers to early Christmas shopping

To entice the Freemans customers online and to get them to start thinking about Christmas early, Red C developed a fun game to provide some theatre around the daunting task of Christmas Shopping.  We developed a charming Rudolph character to deliver various Christmas Gift ‘riddles’ via email to the customer base.

Rudolph's Riddles email marketing campaign created by Manchester Digital Agency Red CBased on a simple ‘egg hunt’ theme, customers were asked to work out the clue in ‘Rudolph’s Riddle’ and then click through to the right area of the gift website.  Here they would find a red nose, symbolising a right answer.

All customers were sent an email in late October detailing 3 riddles, with follow up email reminders sent the following week.  For simplicity and to make the competition easy for customers to enter, we also developed campaign specific landing pages.

The campaign was a great success for both Freemans and Grattans with entry volumes much higher than anticipated.  The campaign produced a fantastic level of incremental customer demand, especially considering that there were no products showcased.
