My time on work placement at Red C

by Tom Mitton

Tom gets drunk with katherine whilst on placement a Red CReflecting on my time at Red C over the past year I never expected to be given so much responsibility; my placement year has arguably been one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had.

Before undertaking the placement year at Red C I knew that marketing was definitely the career that I wanted to pursue, however having undertaken this placement I can really see myself working at in agency rather than the client side. It has been interesting to find out how an agency operates, understanding how the two sides of the agency work together, the account teams liaising with the clients and then relaying information to the creative team.

My time on year-long placement at Red C

by Laura Bellis

Laura enjoys a tipple at the 2009 Red C Christmas partyAs I approach the end of my placement year with Red C, I would like to emphasise how much I have enjoyed being part of such a dynamic and innovative company. Being at the forefront of marketing development and seeing an idea put into practice is an experience any marketing enthusiast would envy. The knowledge and skills I have acquired will undoubtedly prove to be a valuable asset in my final year at University.

From the moment I started my placement to the final week I genuinely felt part of the Red C team, rather than just a student having to be kept busy for the duration of her placement. The friendship, co-operation and genuine concern for one another became apparent as soon as I started working at Red C and something I will always remember.

My work placement year at Red C

by Laura Bellis

Placement student Laura Bellis hard at work on an email marketing campaign for Red C marketing, Advertising Agency, Direct Marketing Agency, Email Marketing Agency and Search Engine Marketing AgencyI was overjoyed when I was offered a placement at Red C. Determined to get the placement at that company; I researched it as thoroughly as I could, so that I stood a good chance of success. I am glad I did.

Initially I was overwhelmed by the amount of information that I would have to assimilate. However, I found the team I was working with to be informative, helpful and friendly. The amount of knowledge that I have gained working at Red C has far surpassed what I have learnt at university. I think the best way of learning about a job is to actually do it.

What I have learnt is to prioritise my work, use my initiative and play an active and cooperative role in the team. I have learnt that Red C is a dynamic company with an innovative approach to marketing.

My Placement Experience at Red C and how it was going back into final year of University

by Shitha Jagadeesh

Luckily for Red C, Shitha's not like your typical student layabout, she really wanted to come and work for an award winning Advertising Agency, Direct Marketing Agency and Online Marketing Agency

Bloody Students

On the 7th June 2007 I got the phone call to say…..I had secured the position as Junior Marketing Coordinator at Red C in their London Office. I was absolutely ecstatic as this was a bit of a double whammy for me seeing as it was also my birthday! I will never forget how happy I was to hear such good news.

In August 2007 I began my placement year with Red C. Moving down to a new city, was exciting but also made me very nervous at the same time; however the nervous feelings soon diluted as I began my placement journey. During the start of my placement, the routine of getting up early everyday and concentrating for the whole day was daunting and I did struggle to get into a regular pattern in the first few weeks.

This week’s book in reception: My Portfolio

by Daniel Lambert-Maddocks

book_front01‘It’s not what you know, it’s who you know’.

This was almost certainly the case for me when trying to find a placement for my year out from university. It had proved much more difficult than I anticipated, possibly due to companies being under pressure during the recession.

After numerous phone calls and e-mails I was still struggling to secure even a two-week placement, until a friend (Lee Fairhurst) mentioned that a marketing company he works for were looking for placement students. A phone call, and an interview later, I had got myself a month’s work placement at Red C.
