Red C nominated at the 2010 Roses Advertising Awards for Cottages4you

by Julian Gratton

The end cottage scene from the Cottages4you TV Commercial that has been nominated at the 2010 Roses Advertising AwardsEveryone at Red C today is chuffed to bits after hearing that our TV Commercial for Cottages4you has been nominated in the ‘TV Commercial Over 30 Seconds’ category at the 2010 Roses Advertising Awards. Attended by around 400 key individuals from the advertising industry, the Roses Advertising Awards allows the creative community the opportunity to demonstrate and prove their innovation and creativity.

The nominated advert aims to highlight the benefits of a self catering holiday by focusing on the experiences guests take home with them. Customer research carried out by HCG showed that the main features of a cottage holiday were relaxation, freedom and enjoying being ‘back with nature’. The scenarios depicted in the 40 second advert reflect these feelings and capture the essence of a cottage holiday.

Commercial Director: Phil Taylor

by Julian Gratton

The darts player Phil Taylor, not the Commercial Director Phil Taylor who recently shot a TV Advert for Cottages4you on behalf of Red C Marketing, Advertising Agency and Direct Marketing AgencyBefore we go any further… no… the 14 times World Darts Champion is not moonlighting as a Commercials Director… the Phil Taylor we’re talking about is far taller, skinnier and has considerably less hair! Phil recently finished filming a new advert for us for Cottages4you… an ad that everyone here at Red C is incredibly proud of and was brought to life by both Phil and Sharon Gunnel, the Producer at Velvet.

Our first introduction to Phil was through his reel which immediately grabbed us for his clever subtle use of humour and ability to capture some lovely moments on films as well as getting some memorable performances from his actors. On meeting him I was instantly sold by his passion for both our concept and his desire to stay true to my original idea and deliver an advert that had high production values and quite simply and beautifully converted a singular message in a memorable way.

Commercial Director: Andy Saunders

by Jennie Ambrose

Meet the Marisota women as they appeared in Red C's TV Commercial for MarisotaChoosing a director is a tricky business. You are putting a lot of trust in someone to bring your concept to life and this time we needed it to be extra special.

Working on the concepts for the Marisota spring summer 2009 DRTV advert we had to go back to basics, introducing the girls and focusing on the research and size messages. So to bring all this to life means taking care of the little details.

Once the storyboards were signed off the real work started. Firstly finding a Director who can understand the concept and add something special was needed. I was introduced to Andy Saunders through Sharon Gunnel and her production team at Velvet. The first pre-production meeting went really well, Andy brought lots of ideas to the table to bring the ad to life… and I was sold on him straight away.

Feeling the Flex: Our Grattan testimonial

by Joseph Reaney

A clip from our Grattan Viral filmIt’s a sad truth about advertising that we’re not always able to justify having a young woman walk around our office in her delicates. Although we were selling the same kind of service in this advert, Grattan customers are a little different to Freemans’ – so, bearing in mind this new target audience, we came up with a more ‘sensible’ concept that explained the practicalities and benefits of Flex in greater detail. And, believe it or not, I found this testimonial route the more enjoyable of the two ads to write… after all, it’s incredibly satisfying when you manage to explain an extremely sophisticated service like Grattan Flex in a concise and engaging way.

The bare necessities… of our Freemans Flex Viral

by Sonya Greenwood

Movie Clipping 1It’s not every day you walk into the studio to be greeted by a lingerie-clad lady striding confidently around reception. It wasn’t even that warm, as I recall. Some of the guys in the studio quite liked the idea though. (There you go Steve, Leigh and Lee… told you I wouldn’t mention any names.)

Our new Marisota Autumn/Winter 2009 Commercial

by Jennie Ambrose

_DSC1447 - Version 2 RTLate nights. Much to my husband’s dismay I’ve done my fair share of them. My latest late night adventure involved a 12-hour one-day DRTV shoot for a client that’s close to my heart… Marisota!

The last advert we did was a big success. So there’s a huge expectation with this one. But by again focusing on the strengths of the Marisota brand… I think we’ve created the best advert yet. But mind you, I said that about the last one… and will probably say it about the next one.
