We love books at Red C. And we especially love books that contain great advertising case studies, just like ‘Advertising Works 18′, which features a case study on our award-winning work for the Swinton Mystery Tipper.
‘Advertising Works 18′ shows how marketing communications has helped organisations including UKTV, Swinton Group and Halifax, to translate big ideas into impressive results on small budgets. So it’s perfect for anyone wanting to produce effective campaigns or drive their business to greater success.
The book contains full versions of the 16 case studies that won Gold and Silver prizes at the 2009 IPA Effectiveness Awards; the industry’s most prestigious and rigorously judged competition, and the benchmark for marketing communications best practice, as well as summaries of the Bronze awards.
The campaigns discussed are united by their successful demonstration of achieving a return on marketing investment. Each case study details the unique creative, communications and media strategy used to accomplish its objectives.
The book has been edited by Andy Nairn, Executive Planning Director, MCBD, contains a foreword by Tess Alps, CEO, Thinkbox; the Awards sponsor, and features insight and analysis from experts across the advertising industry. The themes include discussions on share of voice, digital and behavioural economics, which complement the invaluable information on brands and markets from the case studies.
At Red C we firmly agree with Dr Seuss and what he wrote with regards having fun…“It’s fun to have fun, but you have to know how”. And we certainly had some fun with one of our clients, Swinton Insurance, when we created an email that promoted Alien Abduction Insurance.
Obviously, this isn’t a real product. It was just a bit of fun that we thought we would have on April Fools’ Day. And it was so much fun that the technology news website, Techradar.com, voted our hoax email campaign one of the 10 best April Fools’ Day hoaxes on the web alongside Google’s Animal Translator App and Virgin Media using ferrets to lay broadband cables.
Techradar.com is the largest UK-based consumer technology news and reviews site. Their editorial independence is backed by the weight of the UK’s largest technology publisher plus objective test data from the TechRadar Labs. So when it comes to technology and all things geeky… they know what they are talking about.
So a big thanks to techradar.com, we’re glad you enjoyed our April Fools’ Day hoax as much as we had fun creating it.
